my chemical romance aka mcr is an american emo band and is considered to be one of the most influential rock groups of the 2000s. the band consists of:

- gerard way (vocals)
- frank iero (rhythm guitar)
- mikey way (gerard's younger brother) (bass)
- ray toro (lead guitar)

past members:
- matt pelissier (drums, 2001-2004)
- bob bryar (drums, 2004-2010)

founded in september 2001 by gerard, mikey, ray, and former-drummer matt (and later joined by frank), the band signed with eyeball records and released their
debut album 'i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love' in 2002. they signed with reprise records the next year and released their major-label debut,
'three cheers for sweet revenge' in 2004. shortly after the album's release, Pelissier was replaced by Bob Bryar.
The album was a commercial success, attaining platinum status over a year later.
